Ground Squirrel Trapping

Overview of Ground Squirrel Trapping and Removal

While Ground Squirrels are cute, they can rip up insulation, terrorize pets, and steal fruits and walnuts for food. They make their homes in attics and sometimes under homes and debris, tearing up insulation and making a general mess of things.  Where they live, they leave their droppings and urine, which will pose health risks.

Ground Squirrel trapping and removal is common not only in the residential homes, businesses, orchards, parks, farms, and but rural neighborhoods.

Ground squirrels are burrowing rodents that if left unchecked can do massive damage to a property. Even a small colony can leave dozens of mounds and holes in the ground which would pose a safety risk to people, animals and sometimes the structures of buildings.

The best way to address a Ground Squirrel problem is trapping, exclusion and removing the Ground Squirrel from the property.

It is also possible to gas the Ground Squirrels in their burrows when they have dug into a yard, structure, pasture, park or orchard.

Squirrel Trapping and Removal Videos

Squirrel Nest Located

Tracking down "scratching noises in the attic by my window" for a customer led me to this discovery. A family of Ground Squirrels took over a former bird nest. The Ground Squirrels did some upgrades, like adding more space (the sratching noises) and warm dog fur from the homeowner's dog (conveniently found around the dog house). I excluded this area and set traps, which caught the Ground Squirrels.

Squirrel Trapped

After doing the exclusion, the next morning this Ground Squirrel was caught. Over the next couple of days, I trapped the remaining Ground Squirrels that were causing the destruction and noises that irritated the homeowner.
